Dear Interested Parties:
Our church has had a very satisfactory association with the
Hershey's Stained Glass Studio of Milton, Iowa.
In 1998 we completed our new building project which included
moving seven large stained glass windows from our old building
to a brand new church. Hershey's Stained Glass Studio removed
seven large windows and transported them to their shop. All windows
required total restoration. One window had to be redesigned because
it had formerly been framed in four separate panels. Hershey's
Studio put it together in one unit, framed it in oak, mounted
it with a panel of lights behind it and installed it high above
out altar near the peak of the roof. With a backlit oak cross
below it, the effect is beautiful-regardless of the level of
lighting used in the sanctuary.
The six remaining side windows required total refabrication
due to the dimensions of the new sanctuary. Each was downsized
retaining the original design and proportions. Most people comment
on how beautifully these windows have been restored to their
original appearance. They don't even realize there is a significant
difference in their dimensions. The side windows were mounted
in openings between the sanctuary and the corridors on both sides.
Lighting in the corridors behind the windows is variable and
this can change the appearance of the windows, according to what
is desired.
Our project required extreme skill and attention to detail.
Hershey's Stained Glass Studio provided this and more. The quality
of their workmanship was excellent and their personal service
was superb. I would enthusiastically recommend their studio to
others. Our experience with them was extremely positive and we
will continue to enjoy the beauty of their work for many years.
Sincerely,
