To Whom It May Concern:
Please consider this my strongest personal and professional
recommendation regarding the skills and talents of Kevin Hershey
and Mike Burgraeff of the firm Hershey's Stained Glass Studio,
Milton, Ia.
The Newcomb Art Department recently underwent an expansion
and renovation of its c. 1917 James Gamble Roger building. Within
the new construction schedule, plans were made to accomodate
the 6 remaining Tiffany studio lancets originally housed in the
College's first chapel. It was my pleasure to work with Hershey's
Stained Glass Studio on the installation of these two exceptional
Tiffany triptyches.
Kevin Hershey and Mike Burgraeff exhibited the highest degree
of professionalism, and I can say with confidence that their
work ethics are above reproach. The installation of the windows
fell under my purview as Curator of the Newcomb Art Gallery.
Mr. Hershey and Mr. Burgraeff arrived on site at the appointed
time and stayed well into the evening if the situation required
it. I was with them through every step of the installation and
never did I experience an unpleasant moment.
I am aware that Mr. Hershey and Mr. Burgraeff are well trained
in the installation and stabilization of stained glas through
assisting Arthur Femenella, Jr., of Femenella & AssociatesAnnendae,
NJ, with a number of his firm's projects. As you may know Mr.
Femenella is an eminent scholar in the field of stained glass
restoration and conservation; there is no higher testimony to
Hershey's Stained Glass Studio's ability than being invited to
paticipate in Femenella & Asscoates' projects.
Mr. Hershey's and Mr Burgraeff's skills as stained glass artisans
are without question. Whatever the job, I am certain they will
work efficiently and productively with a minimum of supervision.
I do not hesitate to recommend them with enthusiasm.
Sincerely,
Sally Main,
